Leave it to Raul Perez to produce an expression of the Sierra de Gredos so spot on, so vibrant, but that still manages to clock in at under $20 a bottle. This vintage, I've tasted single vineyard wines from the region that couldn't stand up to this wonderful bottling. 100% Garnacha purchased from sites planted on granite and slate soils. Native yeast fermentation in concrete, followed by 6 months in used French oak. The high acidity and framboise-toned fruit are in an absolutely perfect place right now. Elegant enough to drink on its own, this wine will still reward food pairings, particularly with a big plate of croquetas de jamon.
