Berry-Althoff 2025 IGP Gard Syrault
Syrault, as you might have guessed, is a blend of roughly equal parts Syrah and Cinsault, coming from their estate vines in Aubais and Aujargues planted on limestone soils. The grapes are destemmed, followed by a 7-day infusion maceration at 20–22°C, after which the wine ages in stainless steel for eight months, with no added sulfites. While you get plenty of big Syrah fruit on the nose, the palate is light and fresh with very little tannins. It's a great chillable red that shows surprisingly dark fruit while maintaining impressive energy and great acidity. Enjoy in its youth with anything from pizza to bbq, an outstanding lighter red that's perfect for the transition from summer to fall.
