25-60 year old vines of Jaen (40%), Alfrocheiro (30%) and Touriga Nacional (30%) planted on granite at 500m altitude. After spontaneous fermentation in wooden vats with 30% whole cluster, the wine is macerated on the skins for about 30 days before aging 15 months in barrel. Cracked pepper, a little clove spice and red fruit show very nicely on the nose, continuing onto the palate where a velvety quality in the tannins is revealed.
