The Pura Tinto is a field-blend from a single co-planted vineyard, comprising 60-100 year vines of Jaen (Mencia) Bastardo (Trousseau), Baga, Alfrocheiro and more. Soils are granite. 40% whole cluster; fermented with native yeasts in wooden vats; roughly 30 days on the skins, and aged in foudre for 16 months. This showed excellently at a recent tasting, with spiced and herbal notes complimenting the very pure fruit. The tannins are as fine as the finish is long, and while it's in an amazing spot now, I can see another 3-5 years in the cellar being nicely rewarded.
