Ferme du Mont Benault 2024 VDF Les Mûriers

The 2024 "Les Muriers" is made with a 2 week semi-carbonic maceration, from Pineau D'Aunis (in cuve) and Cabernet Franc (in jarre/amphora) grown on red schist soils. Bright red/black color, lovely aromas of black raspberry, cherry, earth, violet, white pepper. The palate is elegant with firm acidity and ripe red and black fruits, dense but light and balanced, with lovely concentration of fruit....elegant, long very mineral finish with lingering bitter black fruits. Beautiful with grilled pork or lamb, vegetables, tagines - serve cool. give it some time to  open up and cellaring for 5 years would be very interesting... David Lillie
