Thibaut and Christian Ducroux, 2022 - 2024!

Chambers Street is honored to work with Thibaut and Christian Ducroux, who produce some of the world's most vibrant and delicious natural wines from their five hectares of living soils in Thulon, above Regnié-Durette in the Beaujolais. The estate has been practicing organic and Biodynamic farming, with minimal plowing, (i.e. regenerative agriculture) since 1985. Today, we are thrilled to offer several bottlings, all of which are in New York and ready for shipment, delivery or pickup!

I will say, from the first time I visited the estate in 2011, I felt like my father and Christian were potentially separated at birth. They both are obsessed with earthworms and might care more about them than other humans. They both have a love for regenerative farming: when Christian told my father that he decided to tear up several rows of vines ($$$) in order to plant a variety of fruit trees that ripen at different times, allowing for pollenation by birds and bugs across 10 months of every year, there was jubilation! I have since heard of importers who visitied Ducroux and asked "how much, how much" (about the price of his wine, not his willingness to sacrifice income for biodiversity) and it has further solidified my feeling that these two gentlemen are peas in a pod. 

After tasting the new wines with Thibaut and Christian, we're very happy to report that the spirit and essence of the wines is fluid. Each bottle tells a story of the vintage, with 2024 being more acid-driven, tangy and vibrant. In some ways, it's what old school natural Beaujolais fans were drawn to, so we're happy to have a decent quantity to offer of such a delicious and vibrant wine from such a limited vintage. We're also very grateful to be the recipients of some back stock from Christian's cellar, as there were some cases of 2022 Exspectatia that Thibaut inherited, along with 2022 Patience and the delicious new release of the 2023 Patience. Needless to say, we're happy to share these pure and life-affirming wines with you!
