Radiant Rosato from Montenidoli & Rabasco
5/31/26 -

This lovely Sunday, we have two distinct Italian roses on offer. One, a crisp yet complex Tuscan Cannaiolo Rosato from Montenidoli and the other a darker, textural Cerasuolo style rosato from Rabasco. Cheers to two of our favorite women winemakers and their stunning 2025 releases! Continue reading below for tasting notes and details about each winemaker.

Elisabetta Fagiuoli of Montenidoli has dedicated her life's work to putting San Gimignano, Tuscany on the map. She has never sprayed pesticides in her vineyards and has been a friend to nature, evidenced by the wildlife that weaves through her home and vineyards. After buying the Montenidoli estate perched high on a mountain overlooking San Gimignano, she found fossils and white limestone in the soil and had the idea to plant white grapes, too. Today's wine is a lovely example of a white wine master's hand at Rosato: crisp and light with great texture and acidity.

Montenidoli 2025 Toscana Canaiuolo Rosato
$29.99
Wow. We usually love this rose, but the 2025 release is a stunner! Energetic and tingly fruit like green apple, honeydew and cantelope. While the fruit feels perfectly ripe, it's understated and leans more towards a pale, crisp style. A good dose of acidity keeps everything light and fresh and there's lovely salinity from the marine rich soils. This is the kind of rose that will please natural wine nerds and classic drinkers alike.

Iole Rabasco, owner & winemaker of Vini Rabasco is one of the most talented biodynamic farmers in Abruzzo! Her 11 hectares of grapevines and olive trees are in Pianella, Abruzzo very close to Valentini. Her 50 year old vines have never seen any chemicals and have been tended with biodynamic practices for the last 20 years with the sentiment of leaving the land better than she found it. While this is a darker rosato, the freshness and levity Iole achieves still makes this a lovely pick for any wine lover.

Vini Rabasco 2025 Cancelli Vino Rosato
$29.99
The 2024 Cancelli Rosato was a staff favorite at Chambers Street, maybe you recognize it from our shelves. The 2025 is particularly delicious- its hand harvested, spontaneously fermented and aged in stainless steel, with no fining or filtering. The fruit profile leans more towards a Cerasuolo in style, with blueberry, cranberry, red current and glowing a beautiful ruby in the glass. The acidity is so fresh, almost mouthwatering. I'll be sipping on this all Spring and Summer on its own, or paired with prosciutto & melon, margherita pizza, and seafood pastas.
