New to the Shelves: Domaine Dujardin Showcasing Monthélie Excellence!
9/11/25 -
Too often the smaller, less flashy villages in the Cote de Beaune go overlooked. Maybe it isn't such a bad thing since it means that I get to offer out the exceptional white and red Burgundies from producers like Domaine Dujardin. Although these are possibly wines you haven't heard about- the value here is huge! Sandwiched up in the combe between Volnay and Meursault, Monthélie produces very small quantities of white wines that showcase excellent depth and concentration. But Pinot here is king, accounting for about 85% of the hectares under vine. Due to its neighbors you tend to get a Volnay-like elegance with a bit more power behind them. While the premier crus of Volnay are on average well over $100, the wines from neighboring vineyards on offer today and are all under $85!

Brother and Sister team Paul and Margaux Dujardin represent the 2nd generation of this small family Domaine. Located in the heart of the Cote de Beaune in Monthélie, their father Ulrich Dujardin arrived in Burgundy to harvest and never left. With the support of his wife Catherine, he decided to turn his passion into a profession. He began training with a local winemaker and spent a decade learning the craft before establishing Domaine Dujardin. In 2017 Margaux and Paul took over and are continuing the path of their father. They are committed to farming without the use chemicals which helps them to have the best quality grapes. The winemaking is quite traditional with indigenous yeast fermentation and ageing with little to no new oak, making elegant, lifted wines across the board.
Today we are proud to showcase two Monthélie Blanc from neighboring vineyards that are made with the same methods, yet are quite distinct. Followed by five reds, their village Monthélie and two premier crus, Les Champs Fulliot which neighbors Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chenes, including a 3 vintage vertical of Vignes Rondes! Today through the weekend we are offering a discounted price for a vertical 3-pack of the 1er Cru Vignes Rondes 2020-2022.
