Domaine Louis Boillot - Incredible Value Across Gevrey, Volnay, and Moulin-A-Vent

9/22/25 -

Clément Boillot might have received the best education there is to offer in Burgundy. As the son of Ghislaine Barthod and Louis Boillot, Clément grew up amongst his mother’s legendary Chambolle-Musigny domaine, as well as his fathers which has vines throughout the Cote d’Or. In 2010 the Boillot-Barthod family purchased 10 parcels in Beaujolais of old vines. With both of his parents stepping back, 2023 marks the third year that Clément is in full control of all three domaines. Since arriving in Beaujolais, the Boillots have always vinified their wines in the traditional Burgundian style. All bunches are destemmed, fermentation is in a mix of stainless steel, barrique, and foudre, and the resulting wines are structured and aromatically layered, with a proven track record for aging gracefully.

Across the three domaines, the family farms approximately 17 hectares, 13 in the Cote d’Or (amongst the Boillot and Barthod labels) and 4 in Beaujolais all managed organically, and most being older vines. This is no small feat for such a young winemaker, but Clément has proven yet again his incredible talent in winemaking. These are wines with true finesse and energy that are full of red berries alongside spice. The trio are all ready to be enjoyed now or will continue to drink well for years to come. In a time when wines from all over the world are climbing in price, the wines of Louis Boillot have remained an amazing value in Burgundy. While the wines of Gevrey and Volnay are often well into triple digits, these are all sub $90 and today and tomorrow get 10% off when you buy 6 or more Louis Boillot wines!
