Sabre, Fanny 2022 Beaune Clos des Renardes Rouge

Renard is French for fox (as seen on the label) this refers to the foxes that run in and out of the forest next to the vineyard high on the slop in Beaune above the premier crus. Sitting at 300 meters with 40-50 year old vines. Made with 100% whole cluster, fermented with some pumping over in wodden tank. Aged in 20-30% new 400L barrels for 13-14 months. 

The wine has beautiful aromatics of cherry, cranberry, and spice, with a hint of rose. It is smooth, fresh, lively, and incredibly elegant. When tasting this wine Fanny said, "I like the texture of this wine. It's like a kiss in your mouth. You just want to drink it." I could not have said it better myself. Drinking well now and will continue to age for 5-10 more years.
