Mortellito 2023 Nerissimo Rosso

Nerissimo is an ancient name for Nero d'Avola. This is a single vineyard with pure limestone soils minutes from the sea. Winemaker, Dario, prefers a soft & gentle extraction to coax the more delicate notes from Nero d'Avola to avoid aggressive green notes. The resulting wine is delicate yet powerful- reminding one of Morgon Beaujolais. Moreno cherry, spicy black fruit, silky pretty texture, and a lifted vertical finish. This is Dario's homage to traditional Nero d'Avola, with his low intervention approach!
