Mas Coutelou 2024 Vin des Amis Rouge
Vin des Amis is one of Jeff Coutelou's benchmark reds. Typically a blend of Syrah and Grenache, it's roughly equal parts Cinsault, Syrah and Grenache in 2024, and is made in the same way as his other cuvées – native yeast fermentation, with ageing in concrete vats. There are always notes of subtle spice and a touch of damp earth, with darker fruit dotting the tongue and ample acidity to keep it balanced.
Notes from importer Camille Riviere: 35% Cinsault, 35% Grenache, 30% Syrah= destemmed. 12.5% ABV. 12 day maceration for syrah & grenache, 6 day maceration for cinsault, aged in concrete. Deep red fruits with light tannins. This is Jeff's favorite vintage of VDA, it's a wine he dreamt of making for his whole career.
