La Gazzetta Vignarola is the most intense wine we have at Chambers from winemaker Trish Nelson. Vignarola actually has three days of skin contact compared to Bianco Gazzetta and Trilli Special’s five. The addition of stems in the fermentation contribute the bolder structure and savory tones. The first thing to notice about the wine is the striking copper color, followed by a nose of grilled peaches, toasted walnuts, slight smoke and chalkiness. The tannins are present, but coat the mouth broadly and evenly. Vignarola happily pairs with the meatier Roman pastas like Amatriciana and Gricia. Also wonderful with salumi and cheeses, porchetta, and hearty fish stews.
