Huet 2009 Vouvray Clos du Bourg Sec
"Vouvray Clos du Bourg Sec 2009: At 15 years of age this presents a fine orange gold hue in the glass, with the finest tinge of onion skin to it, although not enough to raise any concern. The nose is evolved, enticing and multilayered, with toasted vanilla, dried apple on pastry, star anise and spiced pear, and a confident touch of toasted pine nut, but nothing to suggest oxidation. This is aromatically charming, but the palate ramps it up with an immediate and exciting spine of sinew and grip, draped in the spiced fruits of the nose, along with impressive acidity for this warmer vintage, and a long pithy grip. It is so elegant, lithe and complete, easing itself across the palate and into the finish, this is a brilliantly evolved dry Vouvray. Top notch. No rush to drink here (although it is in a very good place right now, should the mood take you)" Wine Doctor January 2025
