Plant density is 10,000 vines/hectare on clay and limestone with chalky marl subsoil. Grapes are hand harvested and there is rigorous sorting. Cold maceration for 7 days before fermentation. Aged on the fine lees in 20% new french oak barrel for 15 months.
There is great spice here with a floral perfume. A bit less fruit presence then their other Volnays. It has stronger tannins but still smooth and strong. A beautiful wine with many years to go!
