Ducroux 2024 'Exspectatia' Vin de France
The 2024 "Exspectatia" is the only wine produced, in tiny quantities, by Thibaut and Christian in 2024. Tangy and lifted, with bright wild raspberry notes and refreshing acidity. Recently bottled, and recently arrived, we'd recommend giving it 2-3 months (drink in 2026 in case this note becomes dated) before opening a bottle. Given the darker, black cherry leaning fruit profile of 2022 and 2023, this will surely prove to be a "gouleyant" vintage for the Exspectatia. Tasted 9/25, the wine showed bright berry, earth, floral, spice and citrus notes, with a bright palate of raspberry, cherry and strawberry fruit finishing with vibrant acidity, earth and mineral notes, refreshing and food friendly. A beautiful glass of pure juice, enjoy without moderation. (No added SO2, best consumed on day opened, which will be easy...)
