Delrieu-Ducleux 2024 La Joue Blanc VDF

La Joue is a natural Chenin Blanc from younger vines planted in 1976 on typical schist soils of the Anjou region. The wine is fresh with nice cut and a lovely mouthfeel, albeit less dense and voluptuous than their old vines 'Le Jeau' (this won't confuse anyone right?). Aging is half in stainless steel and half in used barrels. There's a delicate nose with stone fruit (white apricot) and some preserved lemon aromas. The acidity and overall balance are impressive. Drink now or over the next 2-3 years.
