Carette, Robin 2025 Les Salines Chenin

Les Salines comes from Robin's younger Chenin Blanc vines, aged 5-30 years old and planted on sandstone and gravel soils in Bonnezeaux. The wine is racked once after fermentation and aged two thirds in barrels and one third in stainless steel tanks for 7 months before being blended in March and bottled in April. The 2025 shows sightly oxidative aromas of roast lemom, pineapple, white flowers, honey and stone, quite ripe and lovely.  The plate shows beautiful ripeness with firm, bright acidity, with lime, apple, honey and intense mineral flavors that mingle with the fruit in the palate-coating finish. It's a shining example of natural, dry Anjou Chenin that showcases the Bonnezeaux terroir, full of energy and ready to drink now but with enough density to age if you feel inclined to stash some away. (No added SO2, total SO2 non-detectable, 0.5 gr/l RS.)
