Baricchi, Cascina 2010 Barbaresco Riserva Quindicianni

The Quindicianni bottling, beginning with the 2010 vintage, is a library release of the Rose delle Casasse bottling. Both wines are bottled at the same time after 5 years of large barrel aging, the Quindicianni then spends ten years in bottle before release.

For a 16 year old wine, it is stunningly fresh and vibrant! Stones, berries, menthol, and fennel frond. The age on the wine hasn't invited many mushroomy or dried fruit notes, but rather a balance and centering to the wine. It's drinking so well, I feel its currently in it's peak drinking window where you benefit from both freshness and maturity, but this can also be cellered if you aren't ready to pop the cork!
