Vallana 2008 VdT Campi Raudii

100% Spanna (local term for Nebbiolo) fermented all in cement with 3 pumpovers a day. The 2008 holds on to its youthful fresh character, just with more finesse and balance than the 2016. I noticed the minerality, acid and fruit working together like a locked in piano trio. I’m thinking of Bill Evans, or Oscar Peterson. Delightfully classy, while still fun and flashy. This wine is ready to drink, but I see potential for further aging. - KG
