Coming from Vallana’s high altitude vineyards on volcanic soils, 100% Spanna (local term for nebbiolo) fermented in concrete before aging for 2 years in neutral oak barrels. Originally an austere vintage due to a long cool growing season resulting in high acid, 2008 will have had time to come into balance and should be drinking well now. - KG
