Bouchevreau, Jacques 2024 Bugey Blanc Sous La Tour

This is all Chardonnay from Bugey, which undergoes a long 18 hour press. There are some savory aromatics on the nose that mingle nicely with subtle orchard fruit and fresh white flowers. The acidity is bright and lifted, with a complex minerality and lingering finish. This wine finished ever so slightly frizzante, which is evident upon opening but smoothes out as the bottle is open. It's a unique textured white that is contemplative but easy to drink, a wine that showcases the Bugey terroir beautifully.
