Berry-Althoff 2022 IGP Gard Lopin

Lopin is 100% Cinsault from estate vines in Aujargues, planted in 1969. The grapes are destemmed and macerated for 12 days , fermentated with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged 12 months in foudre, amphoras and 400L French oak barrels followed by 4 months in stainless steel tanks. This was a standout when tasting in February, with crunchy red fruit and spice that burst from the glass. It's high energy and juicy with lovely balance of acid and tannins. While drinking great now, this could age another 5-10 years and show even further character and development, although it's wonderful now.
