ZZ is a new wine from Maupertuis made from a hybrid grape variety called Vidoc, which is resistant to disease and mildew. The two Zs stand for zero treatments in the vines and zero additive in the cellar. It's aged for around 8 months in large barrels. One french reviewer mentions that it has almost a Swiss style, referencing the acidity and lift. We're always curious about hybrids and the important conversation around them, so we're looking forward to trying this one!
