La Grapperie 2024 Adonis Pineau d'Aunis (Arrives 9/22)

This is a beautiful Pineau d'Aunis coming from a blend of different sites in Bueil-en-Touraine and Dissay-sous-Courcillon. Vines are aged 4 – 80 years, grown on silex, clay, and limestone on Southern-exposed slopes up to 100m above sea level. The grapes are harvested and selected by hand, 30% are de-stemmed then all are macerated for 2 weeks in large conical oak vats (cuve tronconique) where spontaneous fermentation takes place. The wine ages 12 months on lees in 600-liter oak barrels and is bottled without fining, filtration, or sulfur addition. The 2024 is beautifully fresh with characteristic tension and a mix of bright red fruit and white pepper. Subtle tannins and lively acidity add structure, while the palate is lithe and buoyant. A beautiful expression of Pineau d'Aunis!
