Taille aux Loups 2022 Montlouis "Les Hauts de Husseau"

The Taille aux Loups 2022 "Les Hauts de Husseau" is from a high-elevation vineyard with 70 to 110 year-old Chenin Blanc vines. The is fermented and aged in barrel, 20% new, 80% 1-4 year old barrels. This is a gorgeous wine that will benefit from a few years in the cellar, then enjoy until 2045. "It's a finely scented, silken style that provides a mellow sense of effortlessness on the mid-palate before it structures itself toward the close. The chalky nature of the soil provides a fine coating of texture and structure, which adds persistence and line. It finishes long, calm and focused, with notes redolent of pastry, ripe apple and chalky citrus."  Vinous
