This is the first vintage of Erdizka, which translates in Basque to "Halfway." It is appropriately an equal blend of Tannat and Cabernet Franc. The extra bit of Cab Franc gives this an herbal edge and mineral undertone that feels a bit more linear and structured than their other reds, and could lead to many years of successful aging down the road. There's some red fruit here, with punchy acidity and tannins that are firmly in place but not overpowering. Enjoy now with a short decant or age another 5-10 years.
