While this drinks very much like a Lambrusco rose, it is technically not! A blend of Barbera and Bonarda are the typical grapes for this style of sparkling rose in Piacenza, Emilia-Romagna. Barbera brings a bit of inky, earthy, soily notes to the party and Bonarda brings berry notes and a velvety texture. Elisabetta makes wine very traditional to her area, with techniques inherited from her father and grandfather. Sparkling wines highlight her special limestone soils with fossilized oyster shells, terroir different from neighbors mere miles away.
