Mas Jullien 2023 Languedoc Rosé
The 2023 Mas Jullien rosé, a blend of Cinsault, Carignan and Mourvèdre, with a bit of Tibouren, combines ripe fruit and a wild savory character with an incisive minerality, offering notes of strawberry smashed in earth, complex aromas of orange rind and fennel seed. The palate is creamy and silken textured without the alcoholic heat often found in rosés from the Languedoc. The fruit is deep and ripe, with a spiciness that will marry well with any grilled meats. Slightly more forward and less structured than the 2022, the 2023 is drinking beautifully now, but will of course keep nicely for 5 to 8 years. Fabulous with seared tuna. A serious wine for elegant summer dining.
