Jousset 2020 'KM 510' Vin de France

'KM 510' is a collaboration of six hands, including those of Lise and Bertrand Jousset and their friend and winemaker Sébastien Fezas from Gascogne. The name is a reference to the distance between the Jousset's home in Montlouis-sur-Loire and Sébastien's home in Courrensan. We were thoroughly impressed with this maceration (or skin contact) wine made from the Colombard grape when we tasted it in 2024, and are excited to have a tiny quantity of the 2020 vintage (as far as we know, the only bottling of this wine). The Colombard grape works very well in this context, with slightly lower acidity and thick enough skins to provide subtle tannins and breadth to the mouthfeel.
