Aligoté: The Burgundy all the Cool Kids are Drinking
Aligoté: The Burgundy all the Cool Kids are Drinking
I began working here at Chambers Street Wines just over a year ago and one of the first emails I sent out was all about Aligoté. A year later, lots has changed, but my love for this grape has only grown. What I proudly proclaimed as everyone's second favorite white wine grape from Burgundy continues to reign true, with producers often giving their Aligoté just as much care an attention as their high end wines. Many of these vines are located within some of the top villages in the Cote d'Or! What was once an overlooked grape varietal is no longer, yet it is often still the entry level wine for many producers, meaning the prices are often much less then their village level counterparts from the same producer. Amongst today's offerings we have some of the best winemakers in Burgundy featuring Aligotés from Meursault, Saint-Aubin, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Hautes-Cotes and beyond! Stock up on this fun, delicious, and food friendly wine. They are sure to impress friends, family, and wine lovers alike.
