New Arrivals from Agrapart

I will keep things brief here, as the wines of Pascal and Ambroise Agrapart need very little introduction We have proudly carried their fabulous Champagnes whenever available and today are welcoming our newest restock which includes some new additions to their sought after lineup! The estate was founded in 1894 in Avize, the heart of the Cote de Blancs and today it is represented by the fourth and fifth generations Pascal and his son Ambroise. For four decades Pascal has been creating powerful wines of chalky minerality. He is passing his incredible talent and knowledge onto Ambroise who now manages approximately 10 hectares of the family's vines.
They create an incredible range of Champagnes starting with two non-vintage blends: 7 Crus that showcase the seven villages surrounding Avize, and Terroirs which is a blend of Grand Cru holdings from Avize, Cramant, and Oiry. These are excellent wines to pop open now but easily can be aged for longer. Next comes Complantee, a really special wine that is a blend of six varieties co-planted in Avize. Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Blanc, Arbane, Petit Meslier and Chardonnay all from a 0.4 hectare plot La Fosse. Pascal believes that this fully allows the terroir to overshine the grape varietal. This moves into vintage dated parcellaires: Mineral which comes from the lower part of the hill and has soils of pure chalk, while Avizoise comes from the top of the hill where there is more clay. These are vinified exactly the same allowing their terroir to shine through. Production is incredibly limited for both of these wines. Alongside these favorites, we are excited to also have three additional new releases. First is Rose, this is the first Champagne Rose from them in about 20 years! 90% is Chardonnay from old vine Grand Crus in Avize and Cramant blended with 10% Coteaux Rouge from Avenay Val d'Or. There is a first ever Agrapart Blanc de Noirs from vines in Avenay that Pascal planted in 1982. Amboise was really taken with this vineyard and chose to vinify the fruit from here separately. And lastly is Pinot d'Avenay Coteaux Champenois Rouge, another first for the Agrapart family.
