If you've shopped at Chambers Street wines over the years and have an affinity for Alsace, the wines of Chantal & Pierre Frick need no introduction. These are benchmark wines of our Alsace section, reflecting a longstanding friendship between the Fricks and the Lillies, dating back to the early 2000s. Staunch representatives and advocates for Biodynamic farming, and greater holistic and spiritual well-being, the Fricks might seem cooky to some, but the wines speak volumes to their incredible farming and a lifetime of knowledge and skill in the cellar. These are energetic and soulful wines. Pierre consistently insists that wine should transport us, inspire us, and excite our palates and our spirits. I firmly believe the wines do exactly that. There is pure and agreeable acidity in every wine, fascinating aromatic and textural elements in their maceration bottlings, and mineral depth and verve across the entire lineup (which we are only offering a fraction of!). As they reach retirement age (or exceed it), they have started the process of handing over the reigns to a new generation and taking a "backseat" to the daily operation of the estate. I doubt they will ever rest or stop looking to the galaxy with childlike wonder as they try to describe the indescribable joy that wine can transmit, but we're happy that they perhaps won't be on their knees pruning or playing classical music to their vines as much as in their earlier days. 

Today we're introducing some new wines and restocking returning favorites from the Fricks. We also want to take the opportunity to re-introduce Domaine Exeterra, a relatively new estate that we started working with this year. The wines have now been stateside for a couple of months and they are truly singing. Regardless of our respect and admiration for the work that Florence is doing, these are exemplary dry Alsatian wines that have impressive depth and are well worth trying, and worthy of aging too!
