5/17/26 -
With Memorial day just around the corner, we asked our staff what wine they are bringing to their holiday barbeques next weekend and the results are below! We have highlighted some of our favorites but click "view the wines" to see a comprehensive list of our recommendations that will get the party started all summer long!

Stein 2024 Riesling der Traubenflusterer 1L
What says party more than a liter of Riesling? “der Traubenflüsterer” or the Grape Whisperer is Ulli’s ode to the endangered growers of steep slope Mosel Riesling. In addition to young-vines at the estate, this wine comes from small growers who are working steep-slope Riesling vines in the area. The wine is incredibly lively with lovely floral notes paired with peach, apricot, and citrus zest. It has ripping acidity with amazing lift and purity. A joyous wine for fun, easy drinking. -Hanna Krilov Cohen

La Fita 2023 Penedès Els Arpiots
As we face the return of 80 and 90-degree temperatures, my mind has already begun sorting through our rolodex of refreshing, light bodied, mineral driven white wines. 80% Xarel-lo lends notes of crushed stones, petrichor, and salty sea-breeze, while the 20% Macabeo imparts its signature notes of smarties and a kiss of ripe citrus fruit. An ideal companion to picnics, beach days and barbeques. -Nick Douglas

Color Collector 2024 Willamette Valley Gamay
This is one of my favorite wines each year and just sings of springtime flowers, summer cookouts and sunsets by the water. It's 100% Gamay from the Willamette Valley's cool and breezy Van Duzer Corridor, half de-stemmed and layered with the other half in whole bunches. It's vibrant and fresh with buoyant fruit, some herbal spice and incredible energy. It's a wine that will make you smile, with unique labels depicting sagebrush for clearing & resilience, lavender for calming & peace, and allium for unity & connection. -Jeff DiLorenzo

Casaretti 2024 Bardolino Classico
A blend of mostly Corvina and Rondinella from the Eastern shores of Lake Garda in the Veneto. The soils here contain glacial rocks and bring an undercurrent of stony minerality to the top notes of raspberry, cherry, violets, and white pepper. Light bodied and pleasant to drink by the pool, while also deserving attention as a food pairing. This wine is lovely with grilled foods, pasta salads, soft cheeses and cured meats making this a great pick for your Memorial Day festivities! -Marisa Licandro

Roberto Henriquez 2024 Santa Cruz de Coya Pais
Roberto Henriquez has provided some of the most outstanding values we have been able to present in the shop recently. Pre-phylloxera, 200+ year old vines of Pais make a beautifully complex and structured light red wine with contemplative depth. Increasingly, my favorite wines are becoming light red/dark rose that are aromatic, structured, and proportionately acid driven. The remarkability and remoteness of this Bío Bío vineyard make it so that there is no need for sulfur or copper treatment, and you can very easily get a sense for the energy of the Chilean mountains from this wine. In my mind this would be very at home in a barbecue setting, with the sun in your face and grilled meat, refreshing and complex without being too pensive. Taste one of the most incredible examples of South American wine at a stellar price! -Blake Riley
