Turley 2023 Zinfandel Kirschenmann Vineyard

The Kirschenmann Vineyard is in the Mokelumne River sub-AVA of Lodi, farmed and owned by Tegan Passalacqua. The vines were planted in 1915 on silica-rich sandy soils and are on their own roots. Of all of their great Zinfandels, Kirschenmann is, as Christina puts it, the 'wine person's wine.' That is to say it has an elegant, lifted quality and beautiful texture, with tension and soaring aromatics while still showing deep pure fruit and some savory spice. Incredible now, this will continue to evolve nicely over the next ten years.
