Terre des Chardons 2022 Costieres de Nimes "Marginal"

The 2022 Terre des Chardons "Marginal" is 85% Syrah, 15% Grenache, grown on "galet roulés" soils of rolled stones from the Rhone river. Biodynamic farming since 2002. It's a deep ruby with shades of purple in the glass, and a classic puff of big Syrah fruit on the nose. The palate is a bit more restrained, with plum and dark cherry fruit intermingling with some savory herbs and a kick of black pepper on the back end. Lovely texture, balanced acidity and a long lingering finish make this a perfect accompaniment to roasted meats, but also enjoyable on its own or with cheese and charcuterie.
