Stella di Campalto 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Rosa

43 months in cask, followed by a minimum of 64 months in bottle at the domaine, before Stella finally decided it was ready, nearly a decade after harvest. 2016 was the first vintage in which she began separating the estate into distinct expressions of its different parcels, and Rosa is a gorgeous example of what makes her wines so singular: pure Sangiovese, enormous complexity, and a kind of weightless intensity that seems to get more compelling the longer it sits in the glass. Only a few thousand bottles were produced.
