Principiano, Ferdinando 2019 Boscareto Barolo (Arrives 10/7)

This single vineyard Boscareto bottling is Ferdinano's smallest production as some of the fruit goes into his Barolo di Serralunga as well as his Langhe Nebbiolo. For this reason, it is only bottled in exception vintages where he forecasts an aging potential of 30+ years. As is often the case with Principiano, great aging potential does not mean his wines are tight now. There is incredible lift, rose petals, fennel seed, and present but integrated tannins.

400m altitude with SE exposure; Cascina Francia sits just above, at 440m. Soils are mostly limestone, with some clay and sand.
