Sourced from the Casa Pepe vineyard: a 0.80 hectare vineyard planted in 1974 that is right in front of the winery. Classic Abruzzo blue clay-marl. Soil more shallow at the top of the hill, a bit deeper at the bottom. Richer, deeper soils at the bottom of the slope, with distinct "speckled" limestone pebble lenses - crucial for added porosity / permeability.

With ever increasing hot vintages, the summer of 2022 saw steady rain allowing vines to healthily ripen the grapes. The Pepes returned to hand harvesting in 2022 to preserve the integrity of bunches. They saw smooth fermentations and lovely, balanced wines.
