Monte dall'Ora 2021 Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore 'Saustó'

Ripasso is a wine aged on the lees — what's left over after winemaking — of the famous Amarone. This process confers some of the luscious richness of Amarone without the Port-like heavy sweetness and high alcohol of those wines. Monte Dall'Ora hits the spot here; this is an elegant wine with just the right amount of Amarone influence — a reminiscence, but nothing overpowering. A potentially great barbeque wine.
