La Gurgue 2022 Margaux

Claire Villars-Lurton (G & C Lurton of Ferriere, Haut-Bages Liberal and Durfort-Vivens) has dramatically elevated the quality of this unknown Margaux, achieving organic certification in 2016 and Biodynamic certification in 2018. The 2022 La Gurgue contains 17% massale selection Petit Verdot contributing to the quite complex and fascinating aromas. 12 months ageing: 15% in new oak barrels, 35% in barrels of one wine, 35% in ovoid concrete tanks, 15% in amphorae. The palate is relatively soft with youthful plum, cherry, citrus and floral notes - this will benefit from aeration if drinking now and should age beautifully for 10 to 15 years.
