Domaine Gabriel Billard is now directed by Claudie Jobard. The four hectares of parcels in and around Beaune and Pommard have a very high percentage of old vines. Certified organic farming with only natural composts used, with minimal treatments in the vines and regular light tilling ("griffage") and wild-yeast fermentations. The 2022 Cuvee Milliane "Vieilles Vignes" is from old vines near Pommard... Approachable upon opening with elegant aromas of tart cherry and black fruits with hints of licorice and dried flowers, along with peppery spices, plums, fresh herbaceousness and zesty acidity combining to make quite a festive pinot. A great pairing for all manner of red meat dishes such as steak tartare and steak sandwich, duck tacos and peeking duck. DIVINE!!! GH & MK
