Graine Sauvage (Sybil Baldasarre) 2022 Vin de France Velvet Underschiste

The Graine Sauvage "Velvet Underschiste" is 100% Grenache Blanc, grown on schiste, oddly enough, in Sybil Baldassarre's vineyard in Faugeres. Whole bunch direct press, no added SO2. It's a hazy straw color in the glass with some citrus zest and fresh herbs on the nose. There's a nice balance of texture and lift on the palate, with a saline minerality and ample acidity that ties everything together. It's perfectly enjoyable on its own but would really shine alongisde herb roasted chicken or vegetables.
