Frick, Pierre 2024 Alsace Riesling Pur Vin Marne et Loess

This Riesling comes from two plots, one in the eastern part of the Vorbourg Grand Cru with marl-limestone terroir, and another located on the eastern slope of the Rot Murlé hill, which consists of predominantly clay-limestone under a deposit of loess. It shows great freshness and zippy acidity, clean and focused while still providing plenty of intrigue. While tasting this wine in France, Pierre was adamant that wine is not meant to be academic, but rather a full-body experience that borders on spiritual in terms of finding enjoyment. This wine is a perfect example of that, with great balance and energy that goes beyond the sum of its parts.
