Fossile 2024 Chinon "Le Rosé"

 Domaine du Fossile is the new name for Domaine Patrick Lambert in Chinon, under new owners Moira Smullen and Chris Marshall. Monsieur Lambert stays on as winemaker/consultant and Matthieu Baudry has provided essential advice so this team seems on track to make great wines! The Lambert Chinon Rosé has always been delightful and an amazing value as well.  Hand harvested from 20-year-old Cabernet Franc vines on gravel and sandy clay soils over limestone. The 2024 Le Rosé shows lovely aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, citrus and rose; the palate is ripe and pretty with raspberry, citrus and stone flavors, light and refreshing with juicy acids, berry flavors and minerals in the finish. This will drink beautifully over the next three years, but don't wait until summer - enjoy it all year round with roast chicken, burgers and lighter meals...
