Finot, Thomas 2022 Coteaux Gresivaudan Chardonnay

The 2022 Chardonnay by Thomas Finot is from grapes grown in the Coteaux du Gresivaudan - The vines are about 50 years-old, in a single parcel on clay/limestone scree from the Chartreuse mountains, on the southeast facing slope north of Grenoble. Wild yeast fermentation in old barrels, 10 months aging. The warm days and very cool nights are ideal for producing a refreshing and stylish Chardonnay with great ripeness balanced by vibrant acidity. The wine shows a very pale gold color with subtle aromas of white and yellow fruits and a hint of oak. The palate shows nice density of classic buttery Chardonnay flavors, pear, peach, apricot, minerals, ripe and round but perfectly balanced and refreshing - a great aperitif and will accopany anything from the sea and white meats as well.
