Dard & Ribo 2024 Saint-Joseph Rouge

Syrah 50% from sandy granite on Pitrou at St-Jean-de-Muzols (1940s-1950s Syrah) and 50% from hard granite, quartz, red clay, alluvial stones on Les Champs at Tournon (1960s Syrah), sandy granite at Vion (1970), whole bunch fermentation, pumping overs, aged used 600-litre oak 10-12 months, unfined, unfiltered. Enjoy over the next 10 years. 2024: "the nose offers quiet potential, blood, a note of iron, red fruits such as cherry, hangs together soundly. The palate has a leafy, peppered opening, with salting that is good, nice droiteur-spine through the agreeable second half. There is a flavour of crushed raspberry on the finish, powder rock tones there. It’s genuine, unadorned, has a firm side to it, the aftertaste lip smacking." -  Drink Rhone
