Rio Sordo's vines were planted in 1958. Compared to Tre Stelle, there is about a meter of topsoil, contributing a more robust quality to the wine. This is just in comparison to Tre Stelle, the general style of the estate still leans on the more elegant, ethereal, fragrant side.
Rio Sordo is aged in traditional Slavonian oak casks for 22 months and matured in the bottle for 6 months before release. No filtration or clarification and a single bottling.
