2022 Kvevri is a blend of 34% Auxerrois, 28% Pinot Gris, 28% Riesling and 10% Gewurztraminer, macerated 6 months in 800L Georgian Qvevri (amphora) and aged another 6 months. Deep apricot fruit and savory herbs dominate the nose, which is a bit wild on opening but opens up beautifully. There's lots of structure and grippy tannins, reminiscient of classic Georgian amber wines, but a finesse and acidity that make it unique to Alsace. A layered and textural wine that develops over the course of a meal or several days.
