Barolet-Pernot 2022 Bourgogne Blanc "Les Combes"

Based in Saint-Romain with 14 hectares from Puligny-Montrachet through Beaune, Romain Barolet is the fourth generation of his family to be winemaker at Barolet-Pernot. Since he took over in 2015 he has brought the production back to 100% in house. He is light handed in the cellar with the goal of making honest expressions of his vineyards that are mineral-rich and age-worthy.

This Bourgogne blanc comes from two plots within Puligny-Montrachet on clay-limestone soils with an eastern exposure. The grapes are hand harvested before being fermented with native yeasts in barrel. They are then aged 11 months in 20% new oak.
